AYUSHMAN BHARAT: Health & Wellness centres

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a government-funded healthcare scheme having the main objective to make India free from diseases. PMJAY aims to give health benefits to 40% of people in the country, and medical insurance cover up to Rs 5 lakh per year. Under this scheme, 10.74 crore families would not incur the cost of hospitalization in the country. To use its perks, the PMJAY e-card must be shown by the beneficiaries of the scheme.

To increase easy access to the scheme under Ayushman Bharat, various health and welfare centres has been created by the government. The centres will be set up to provide comprehensive health care, including for non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health services, apart from free essential drugs and diagnostic services. Expanded range of services:

  1. Care in pregnancy and childbirth
  2.  Infant health care services
  3. Childhood and adolescent health care services.
  4. Family planning, Contraceptive services and other Reproductive Health Care services
  5. Management of Communicable diseases including National Health Programmes
  6. Screening, Prevention, Control and Management of Non-Communicable diseases
  7. Care for Common Ophthalmic and ENT problems
  8. Basic Oral health care
  9. Elderly and Palliative health care services
  10. Emergency Medical Services
