Which categories of people are not entitled under PMJAY?

Ayushman Bharat Yojana, or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), aims to assist those economically vulnerable Indians who require healthcare facilities. PMJAY's goal is to assist Indian citizens to avail the best healthcare services.

This scheme has certain pre-conditions by which it selects who can avail the health cover benefit. The rural areas consist of a list that is categorized on lack of housing, meagre income, and other deprivations. On the other hand, the urban areaslist of PMJAY includes the urban workers’ families in the occupational category that's presented as per the Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011.

The list of people who are not entitled to avail healthcare services under the Ayushman Bharat scheme or PMJAY is given below:

  1. Those having motorized 2/3/4 wheeler/fishing boat
  2. Those having mechanized 3/4 wheeler agricultural equipment
  3. Those having Kisan Credit Card with a credit limit above Rs. 50,000/ 
  4. Those employed by the government
  5. Those with non - agricultural enterprises registered with the government
  6. Those earning more than Rs. 10,000 a month
  7. Those paying income or professional tax
  8. Those with three or more room with pucca walls and roof
  9. Those owning a refrigerator or landline phone
  10. Those owning more than 2.5 acres of irrigated land with one irrigation equipment or owning 5 acres or more of irrigated land for two or more crop season or owning at least 7.5 acres of land or more with at least one irrigation equipment
