Aadhaar Card, a unique identification card, is issued by the Indian Government to all Indian citizens. This card consists of a unique 12-digit number that is known as the Aadhaar Number, and it’s based on each individual’s specific biometric and demographic data.
As per the order passed by the Indian Supreme Court, the Government has made it mandatory to do Aadhaar Linking with a mobile number. The main goal behind this act is to filter out and mitigate the connections issued on the fake documents. The re-verification of mobile number with Aadhaar is free and it’s done within a few seconds.
There are two ways to do this:
Do note that if you’re linking mobile number with Aadhaar card for the first time, then don’t worry, it’s very easy and hassle-free. If you’re desiring to get a new SIM, then do visit the nearest store of mobile operators such as Airtel,Vodafone, Idea, and others as such to get the new SIM linked with your Aadhaar. Follow the steps below for doing it:
Step 1: Visit the store of the mobile operator, and request for a new SIM
Step 2: You’ll be required to present your copy of Aadhaar for ID proof and address proof
Step 3: To verify Aadhaar using the Biometric Scanner, you’ll have to scan your fingerprints
Step 4: After the verification process completes, the new SIM will be issued
Step 5: It’ll take approximately an hour to activate the new SIM
