The Indian Government has made it mandatory for everyone to link their Aadhaar with their bank accounts. The Government has also given the banks the authority to deactivate any accounts that are not linked with Aadhaar Card. This process of linking bank accounts with Aadhaar can be done online and offline. In fact, the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has declared that it is now mandatory to link bank account with Aadhaar Card by 31st March 2021.
To link Aadhaar with bank accounts online, the account holders can do it through the bank’s mobile application or internet banking. However, to avail the facility, first, the account holder has to get registered with the bank for the service.
