What are the documents required for obtaining Aadhaar?

To enrol for an Aadhaar card, the person has to complete a form which can be obtained from the official website of UIDAI. After filling the form submit it to any UIDAI authorized Aadhaar Enrolment Centres in India. Along with the form the applicant also has to attach self-attested copies of certain documents which are required for the Aadhar verification. Moreover, even for Aadhaar Card correction, updating of Aadhaar Card, and/or updating/changing address there are documents required. 

For Identity Proof, the following documents will be required

1. PAN card
2. Passport
3. Ration or PDS Photocard
4. Voter Identification card
5. Driving licence
6. Photo identification cards that have been issued by the Government of India
7. Service photo ID cards which have been issued by a PSU
8. Job card of MG-NREGS
9. A photo identification which has been issued by a Recognised Educational Institution
10. Licence of Arms
11. Photo Bank ATM card
12. Photo Credit Card
13. Pensioner's Photocard
14. Freedom Fighter's Photocard 
15. A Photo of Passbook of Kisan
16. Photo card of CGHS
17. Marriage Certificate 
18. Legal certificate approved the name change 
19. ECHS Photocard
20. Applicant's residing address card
21. Identity Certificate that contains the applicant's photo on a letterhead issued by a Gazetted Officer or a Tehsildar
22. A disability Identification card or a handicapped medical certificate issued by the State Government, the UT Government, or any other such Administration

For Address Proof, the following documents will be required:

1. Passport
2. Account statement or passbook of the Post Office
3. Bank Statement/ Passbook
4. Ration Card
5. Voter Identification card
6. Applicant’s driving licence
7. A photo identification card that has been issued by the Government
8. Service photo ID card that’s issued by PSU with the address
9. Electricity bills of the previous 3 months
10. Water bill that shouldn’t be more than 3 months old
11. Landline bill related to the telephone of previous three months
12. Receipt displaying the Property Tax of the last 3 months
13. Credit Card statement of last three months
14. Insurance policy
15. A photo along with a letter that has an address signed by the bank on its letterhead
16. A signed letter with address along with a photo on the letterhead of the company issued by the registered office
17. A photo along with a signed letter with the address that’s issued by a well-known educational enterprise on their letterhead
18. Job card of NREGS
19. Arms license
20. Pensioner card
21. Freedom fighter card
22. Kisan passbook
23. CGHS card
24. ECHS card
25. Address certificate along with a photo on the letterhead that is issued by an MP, MLA, Gazetted Officer, or Tehsildar
26. An address certificate that is issued by the Village Panchayat head or any other authority equivalent for rural areas
27. Income Tax’s assessment order
28. The vehicle’s registration certificate
29. The applicant’s residential address registered agreement for lease, sale, or rent
30. Department of Posts photo and address card
31. Caste and Domicile certificate along with a photo which the State Government has issued
32. Bill of gas connection of the previous 3 months
33. A disability Identification card or handicapped medical certificate issued by a State Government, UT Government, or any Administrations
34. Spouse’s or partner’s passport
35. A parents’ passport is required for minors

For Date of Birth Proofs, the following documents will be required:

1. Passport of the applicant
2. Certificate of birth
3. Certificate of SSLC Book
4. Date of birth certificate on the letterhead issued by the Tehsildar or the Gazetted Officer
5. PAN Card
6. Certificate of Date of Birth issued by Group A Gazetted Officer on letterhead
7. Marksheet that has been issued by any Government Board or University
8. Government Photo Id Card, Photo Identity Proof, or PSU issued ID card that contains DoB
9. Pension Payment Order (Central or State)
10. Central Government Health Service Scheme Photo Card or Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Photo Identity card
