The information stored on an individual's Aadhaar card is vital, and for this reason, the Indian Government has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar Cards with bank accounts.
To link Aadhaar with bank accounts via SMS through mobile, the following is the procedure of doing it:
- Send a text message from your registered mobile number, in this format - UID <space> 12-digit Aadhaar number <space> Bank account number -- and send it to a specific number that varies according to the bank.
- Then a message will come stating that your request to link your bank account with Aadhaar has been accepted and is being processed.
- The bank will validate the Aadhaar details with UIDAI.
- Once this is done, you will receive a confirmation message stating that your request has completed.
