How to open PMJDY account?
The account can be opened in any private and public authorised bank by submitting a form with the following documents:
- If the applicant has an Aadhaar Card/ Aadhaar Number then no other document is required. In case of change of address, then a self-certification of current address is sufficient.
- If the applicant doesn’t have an Aadhaar Card/ Aadhaar Number, then any of the following documents are required:
- Voter ID Card
- Driving License
- PAN Card
- Passport
- MNREGA Card
The forms are available offline in a bank. Most banks have a designated spot for Jan Dhan yojana called Bank Mitra who will help an individual in the process of opening a bank account.
