If the SIP has been started through the online mode, it can be stopped through the online mode only and vice-versa.
Simply visit the mutual fund company’s website, login to your account using login ID and password, and click on “Cancel SIP” option. The SIP will get cancelled within 30 days of the request for cancellation.
