On September 15, 2021, in Mumbai, RBL Bank achieved a new milestone. RBL Bank Credit Cards began to go live on the Visa payment network. RBL Visa Credit Cards launch defines the successful integration of technology with the new platform. The agreement and initiative between Visa and RBL Bank about doing this act began on July 14, 2021.
It's claimed that RBL Bank holds nearly 5% market share in credit cards in India. Thus, it aims to leverage the partnership with Visa by offering a broad range of credit cards that will cater to various customers. These new credit cards are invented to offer smart, convenient, and secure transactions along with attractive rewards benefits to the users.
At a conference, Harjeet Toor, the Head – Retail, Inclusion and Rural Business of RBL Bank, had a few words to say that described the delightfulness of going forward with the partnership with Visa and thanked Fiserv, their technology partner, for enabling and assisting them in this journey. He also said that their goal is to issue around 1.2 to 1.4 million credit cards in FY22. Along with him, even Sujai Raina, the Head – Business Development, India, Visa, showed the positiveness in initiating this partnership with RBL Bank. He said that they’re pleased to announce their partnership of issuing Visa-powered credit cards to the consumers. Along with this, he stated that Visa aims to facilitate digital payments and help consumers avail credit offerings from their issuers with ease. Both parties were confident their partnership will make credit more convenient to the users of RBL Bank.
