Reasons for a Stock split:
Sometimes, the price of a share of a company is too high that it discourages the investors from buying them or it is much higher than the price of competitors. So, in order to reduce the value of the share price, the company go for stock split. It also helps in increasing its overall liquidity, as new investors might get interested in buying the shares after a reduction in the price.
